Flamenco, UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage status.

Dates of the Bienal de Flamenco in Seville from September 7 to October 6, 2012
Flamenco is once again applying for UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage status.
Thanks to joint efforts with Extremadura and Murcia, and the support of the Spanish Government, Andalusia has submitted a candidature to see that Flamenco finally receives the international recognition it deserves.
Five years after the first unsuccessful bid, Flamenco's candidature is once again knocking on the doors of UNESCO. The aim: inscription on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The Spanish Delegation to UNESCO filed the candidature of Flamenco in August last year, so that it could be analysed and a decision made over the course of 2010.  Picture of Flamenco >>>
